Welcome to the Hinterland Dinner 2019
Our 5th Welcome to the Hinterland Dinner, held at the Flaxton Gardens on Wednesday 17th April, was a stunning sucess. Over 65 new resident to the area came along, we had 134 people arrive on the night, the new catering approach worked very well and the food was great, the value of the raffle prizes was in excess of $5,000, and we cleared the best ever raffle income. Many of the new Lions helped with the organisation of the event and even more hepled on the night. Well done to all new and old lions who participated - you all deserve congratulations.
Our visiting Lions Included PDG Norm and Lion Wendy Jensen, DG Elect Donna and Lion Kevin Hedges, and President Chris - seen here with Club Branch President Geoff and Lion Ann Runge.
Most of the new residents are to be seen in this photo - a couple were camera shy.
Our Key Note speaker was Greg Blackly who wowed the guests with his very interesting and informative talk on Cyber Crime. He had some very good advice to all in regard to the use of internet connected devices.
X-teacher Dennis kept us on track all night but the Raffle Ticket crew stole the show at times. Joy K. showed us the best way to sell tickets - with for them to sit down and then you have a captive audience.
The new raffle team took their jobof scrunching the tickets-up very seriously.
Finally, a very big thank you to Christopher Waters for his photography on the night. Well done Christopher.
